ABC Family has just made a commitment to Nicki Manaj to produce a scripted comedy series based on the rapstress life. The series will focus on Minaj’s growing up in Queens in the 1990s with her vibrant immigrant family and the personal and musical evolution that lead to her eventual rise to stardom.
“Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with at everything she touches,” said ABC Family’s EVP Programming and Development Karey Burke. “Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
The show will be similar to “Everybody Hates Chris” but with a hip hip twist. Nicki will appear in the series as well as executive produce it. Will you be watching?
